SUPPORT U.S. HOUSE RESOLUTION 5843 An Act to Remove Federal Penalties for the Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults
HOW CAN YOU HELP???
1. Contact your legislators By visiting the official websites of your Representative and Senators, you can obtain contact information through which to personally voice your concern. The importance of this simple action cannot be overstated - our lawmakers rely on the support of the voters they serve, and strongly-worded expressions of opinion WORK.
2. Urge your friends to do the same It's extremely hard for lawmakers to vote against a bill that their constituents make clear they support....
3. Donate to the marijuana lobby Letters and phone calls are great, but nothing compares to one-on-one persuasion of the type that can only take place in the halls of Congress. If you have the spare cash, consider a donation to NORML or the Marijuana Policy Project. These organizations are the real "foot soldiers" in the war on inhumanely stupid drug laws.
Update - August 5, 2008 - I'M BACK! Thanks to greatly increased site traffic, I have decided to come out of hibernation and continue to try and make this site the site I always hoped it could be. Time to shake off the effects of that fatty and get to work. With HR 5843 now on the table, there is more reason for hope than there has been in years that some day, no more Americans will ever go to jail for possessing a small personal amount of cannabis (you know, what the REST of the civilized world calls marijuana...). In the next few weeks expect completion of the WWJD section of the site, along with an extensive revision of everything that's on the site so far. |
